Efficiency Gets a Helping Hand with Mac OS: Continuity
Continuity is aimed at the discerning user who owns multiple Apple products, and builds on the idea that you can do more when your devices work together. The suite includes Cellular Calls, Handoff, Universal Clipboard, Instant Hotspot, Auto Unlock, and Text Messaging. Each app uses a similar user interface across devices that makes switching between them seamless and blurs the lines between device-specific functions.
With Cellular Calls and Messaging your Mac connects to your iPhone to make and receive calls and text messages from your Mac. Start a document on one device and use Handoff to complete it on another. Instant Hotspot enables you to connect any of your devices to your own Personal Hotspot on your iPhone or iPad without the need to enter a password or even take your phone out of your pocket. Copy and paste text, images, and video from one device to another with Universal Clipboard. Auto Unlock uses your Apple Watch to automatically unlock your Mac when waking from sleep whenever you’re wearing your watch.
