iPhoto on iOS

Photo editing apps for iOS devices such as your iPhone or iPad can often be confusing and lack clear and precise editing power. Apple has designed their iPhoto App for iPad and iPhoto to harness the power of an editing program like Aperture or Lightroom but made it intuitive and easy to use, allowing any photo to look professional.

You can edit and sort your photos by the albums that you’ve created in Photos or by tapping the Photo tab. To get started just click an album or photo that you’d like to organize or edit. If you have several photos that are similar and you’d like to find the best shot, double tap one of the pictures which will bring up all of the similar photos, allowing you to do a side-by-side comparison. Once you’ve found that perfect photo you can flag it or make it a favorite by tapping the ribbon icon, this will add the photo to albums that only contain your best shots, making them easy to share and find later.

Probably the most exciting features that iPhoto offers comes in the way of editing. Straighten a photo by using the automatic horizon detector which also doubles as the cropping tool. With the painting pallet icon, you can adjust the brightness, saturation, contrast, and much more by moving your finger. You no longer need to understand the terms saturation or exposure, just move your finger around until it’s perfect. You can use the paint brush tools to remove red eye, blemishes, sharpen and much more. With the editing power of iPhoto you can make any shot look professional.

Having beautifully edited photos becomes more meaningful when you have a way to share them. The Journal tab allows you to add albums or specific photo to a journal that you then share with family and friends. You can select different styles to display your photos, change the size that your pictures are displayed and even add features like text, headers, boarders, and what the weather was that day. Share your journal and give your loved ones a truly unique way to interact with and view your photos.

The iPhoto App offers many different ways to edit and share your photos. While you can use the application on an iPhone, it’s much easier and offers more features when used on the iPad.
