iOS 7 Overview

Apple is always trying to improve their products, make them more cutting edge, and increase their intuitiveness. With the announcement of iOS 7, the new operating system for your mobile devices, Apple has managed to make their products even more state of the art. With a complete overhaul of the user interface and the many exciting new features, you’ll be anxiously anticipating the release this fall.

With the new Control Center all of the most used controls are a swipe away. Swipe up on any screen, even a locked one, and you have the option to turn on Airplane Mode, turn off wifi, adjust brightness, and access things like your camera or calculator. With the built in flashlight feature, Control Center will never let you get caught in the dark.
We all use Notification Center, but the improved version helps you see more with just a glance. The Today feature allows you to see a summary of your day and “need to know” information like the weather, traffic, and what’s next. Thanks to Today, being late or caught in the rain without an umbrella, will be a thing of the past.

Photos also gets a facelift with iOS 7. Collections, Moments, and Years organize all of your pictures into easy-to-view collections, transforming them into a work of art. You can view the photos from your amazing beach vacation or review your year in pictures with one swipe.

Apple takes on other music services like Pandora and Spotify with the new iTunes Radio. Music lovers can now easily listen to old favorites and discover new music. Create a station from a song you already know and hear more music based on it, control the ratio of familiar songs to those less discovered, and have the option to buy your new favorite songs straight from iTunes. The more stations you create, the more iTunes Radio learns your tastes, so listen away, your ears will thank you.

The purpose of Apples iOS devices is to make life simpler, iOS 7 achieves this in a beautiful way. These are just some of the new features included in iOS 7, for a complete summary go to Apple’s website.  For all of your Apple needs, contact Cranston IT at support@cranstonit.com or 888-813-5558.
