Cranston IT announces TARMAC iOS Deployment Server

For Immediate Release

Cranston IT Becomes First Authorized U.S. Partner For TARMAC

PITTSBURGH, PA (August 18, 2010) -- Cranston IT Inc. of Cranberry Township, PA, has been selected as the first authorized partner in the United States for TARMAC, a corporate iPhone and iPad integration system that is manufactured by Equinux, a company in Germany.  The announcement was made today by Patrick Cranston, the president of Cranston IT Inc.
TARMAC -- the first tool of its kind for iPhones and iPads -- enables medium to enterprise sized businesses to easily manage a large number of Apple’s mobile devices.  TARMAC easily scales, allowing for deployment of between 10 to 10,000 mobile devices.  Via the new deployment server, devices are automatically configured over the air, eliminating the need to physically connect them to a computer and have them set up manually by the in-house IT department.  TARMAC operates within company networks to create personalized user profiles from existing user data, and then delivers individually tailored settings to the mobile devices.  The IT department controls the TARMAC server through a browser-based user interface.

"Cranston IT is excited to be able to offer TARMAC to our customers,” Patrick Cranston said.  “With TARMAC, businesses can now deploy a large number of iOS devices with very little work added to their IT department.  It’s the easiest and most efficient way to deploy Apple mobile devices, and it saves time and money."

Cranston IT offers Apple certified consultants, technicians and trainers for a wide variety of IT services.  Its more than 1,000 customers in the Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia and around the country range from individuals and small business to large corporations.
