The New Mac Pro - An Efficient Powerhouse

The first word that comes to mind when looking at Apple’s new Mac Pro is efficient. The small cylinder is just a fraction of the size of Apple’s previous model, but blows its predecessors out of the water. Apple enthusiasts have long awaited an upgrade to the Mac Pro towers, and with an overhaul of design and amazing processing power, the sleek, black cylinder is completely unrecognizable.

The new Mac Pro truly is the picture of efficiency. Weighing in at 11 pounds and only 9.9 inches high, the large bulky towers are a thing of the past. Not only is it much smaller, but also amazingly quiet. The new design vents warm air out the top of the cylinder, making it virtually silent. Much like the Mac Mini when it comes to stealth, the Mac Pro’s fans won’t disturb you.
It’s not just the smaller size and the unbelievably cool design that has the techies excited. The performance of the the Mac Pro is revolutionary. The base model, starting at $2,999, comes with a quad-core 3.7GHz Intel Xeon processor, 12GB of RAM, D300 graphics processor, and 256GB of storage. All models are equipped with faster WiFi capabilities, 4 USB ports, 6 Thunderbolt ports, dual Gigabit ethernet ports, and a HDMI hook up. You can connect up to 6 Thunderbolt displays or three of the brand new ultra high resolution 4K displays. Optical drives are quickly becoming a thing of the past; the Mac Pro follows the lead of the iMac and Mac laptops by not including a built-in optical drive although an usb drive can be easily added.

While the beautiful design and impressive power may have the average user envious, the Mac Pro is designed for professional use. Apple specifically engineered the new machine to be used for high-end video and music production, graphic design, and others needing powerful machines. The Mac Pro may not be the best fit or most economical for the average user. The hefty price tag also only includes the Mac Pro and a power cord, all displays and accessories, such as a keyboard and mouse are sold separately. You can order your Mac Pro at online apple store, however you’ll have to wait until February for it to ship.
